Neil Young’s Living With War Today website has posted a link to the mp3 of my song America the Blues on their list of protest songs.

Here’s what I just sent them:

1. Why are we living with war today?
Corporate greedheads are doing whatever they want, including invading other countries, because they have bought the politicians in power right now as well as the media. All of these wars are to create profit, chiefly for the petroleum and arms industries.

2. Who is the enemy?
People without consciences who are motivated by greed and lust for power, working from corporate, government and sometimes religious positions of power.

3. Why did our enemy attack us?
The September 11 attacks were orchestrated by people who were able to: create a US Airforce standdown for one day only, plant enough explosives in the World Trade Center towers to bring them down at freefall speed, ditto World Trade Center Building 7, which was not hit by an airplane, remove all of the evidence from the site of all four crashes before it could be investigated, place put options on stocks that would fall in price as a result of the attacks, and, most of all, benefit from the attacks, by carrying out long-held plans to conquer Afghanistan and Iraq, by getting funding for the Strategic Defense Initiative, and by getting the PATRIOT Act passed without a murmur from Congress, creating a police state in our once-free nation.

4. Where is the enemy?
Busy disabling all possiblity of honest elections (in all nations) so that they can stay in power indefinitely, and using the power they currently have to amass as much power and wealth for themselves as they possibly can.

5. Should we have a dialogue with the enemy?
We have been attempting to dialogue with them continuously, for decades. We must not stop. We must continue to petition, write letters to the editor, support legal battles by organizations that represent us, gather and march in protest, vote, organize and register voters, work to expose election fraud and promote state funded campaigns, boycott corporate pollutors and sweatshops, and support fair trade, live sustainably, recycle, write books and articles, make movies, speak out on the radio, support free speech media, record protest songs, blog, practice nonviolent communication, and pause to rejuvenate ourselves as needed. Mind you, the corporate greedheads generally do not care what we do, since they got where they are by being without conscience, but once in a while there is a spectacular turnaround, witnessed by such books as Confessions of an Economic Hit Man and Blinded by the Right.
