More Lessons from Katrina

Today, April 20, 2006 California Governor Schwarzenegger met with President Bush to discuss funding to improve the fragile levees of the Sacramento San Joaquin Delta that we discussed in an earlier blog on this site.

I also received a note today from Chelsea Lane-Miller, a staff member at American Rivers, a national, river advocacy non-profit to alert us all about the release of their 2006 Most Endangered Rivers report. Their theme this year focuses on the downsides of flood control engineering, and the importance of working with nature to protect from hurricanes.
